Tuesday night, Kamala Harris sat down for her big interview with Bret Baier on Fox News Special Report. Why was it a big interview? Because she has done so few in depth interviews with legitimate media sources that if she comes out of hiding and does one, it is big. Nearly 8 million people watched it, which is a huge number for 6pm on a week night. As a comparison, about 4 million watched Tucker Carlson's interview with Mark Halperin earlier this week, so while Harris' numbers on Fox are big, they aren't THAT big, but it really doesn't matter. More on that in a moment...
So, who was the big winner out of this interview? Well Donald Trump, of course. Harris mentioned Trump 33 times in just over 24 minutes in the interview. Remember how we told you that Trump was mentioned by the speakers at the Democrat National Convention over all other campaign issues combined by a factor of almost 20-1? This is intentional, and further proof that the democrats are not running for you or for the American people, they are running against Trump, MAGA, and the populist movement.
Harris showed up late, left early, filibustered, tried her "I'm talking, let me finish" routine that she pulled on Pence in 2020, scowled, interrupted Baier time and again, seemed to on the verge of losing her temper, wagged her finger, and was generally petulant. From a 30,000-foot view, it is rightfully seen as a disaster, but to the democrat base, it was a stunning success.
How, you ask? Because to the democrat base and left-wing media, Harris, being the first woman of color to run for president against the white male hetero patriarchy, went into the belly of the beast, stood her ground against the "best they had to offer," and emerged victorious. The clips that we see as petulant will be spun as fighting for the truth. The clips attacking Trump will be used as social media propaganda fodder and for fundraising, targeted ever so effectively. The spirit of the interview will be used as motivation for democrat election workers and their base. She's not a policy wonk, she's a fighter, she's OUR fighter, OUR prosecutor, and she'll get us justice.
The interview was almost completely devoid of actual policy positions or self-reflection and it was never going to be that. It was going to be a non-stop emotional attack on President Trump, and when you read Chris' book, "Politics and Pro Wrestling," you will understand that it was purely an emotional play to her base voter, to brand her as an underdog fighter, their hero, fighting against the villains of Trump, the patriarchy, and Fox News. Classic good versus evil. You and I weren't her target audience, the democrat base was.
This also partially explains why she was the first major party presidential candidate in 40 years to skip the Al Smith Dinner last night which was sponsored by Cardinal Timothy Dolan and the New York Arch Diocese. Presidential candidates traditionally deliver what is supposed to be a humorous, self-deprecating address, while keeping in mind that it is a Catholic charity. One, Harris is not capable of operating in a humorous, self-deprecating manner without a teleprompter. Two, she would have to drop the facade of fighter and actually be relatable to all Americans, especially people of faith. Three, there is no way she is going to a major Catholic event like that and risk the backlash from her LGTBQIA+ and antisemitic voting blocs that she is relying so heavily on.
Understand this. Neither the Harris campaign nor the democrat base care about her complete lack of accomplishments, her being named the most left-wing senator in 2019, the invasion at the border, the complete failure to properly allocate and manage the $42 billion she was tasked with for high-speed internet connectivity, the word salads, the flip flops, Minnesota Freedom Fund, Tim Walz's scandals, paying for abortions and transgender surgeries with federal tax dollars...... None of that matters. What matters is good versus evil. She is their freedom fighter against Trump, the white male Christian patriarchy, the Zionists, and the establishment as they perceive it.
We talked about this when the palace coup occurred back in July, about how the election would hinge on how Kamala Harris was defined, both by herself and by Trump and the GOP. There is no questioning that her accomplishments and qualifications, both in the private sector and in government, pale in comparison to President Trump, not even in the same universe, and that the four years Trump was in the White House were far better for the American people and the world than the four years Biden and Harris have been in the White House. Donald Trump is the most vetted candidate in the history of our country, Kamala Harris is the least vetted candidate in the history of our country.
The dichotomy couldn't be more apparent, but in the end does it really matter? The iconic Canadian rock band Rush put out an album in 1979 called "Hemispheres," where the 18-minute title track told a story of the battle in every man between the heart and mind, and victory and peace were only won when the heart and mind united. It is no different in politics and professional wrestling, it is a never-ending struggle between the heart and mind, between good and evil.
So, as we approach the final chapter of this election cycle, will our national hearts and minds unite, or will it continue to be a struggle of good versus evil? Will evil prevail? The future of the nation and world hinge on the answer to that simple question. Will we do the smart thing, or succumb to our emotions?
Politics really is like professional wrestling, and like a struggling grappler, let's hope that we as a nation have the strength and wisdom, to kick out and not get pinned.
